Steps to Increase Website Traffic

Came across a great artitle “26 Steps to 15k a Day”(it should means 15K visitors per day). I have read through it, and let’s see what can we apply on blog site to increase blog readers. :)

  • Site Design – the simpler the better. Avoid heavy flash, dom, java and javascript.
  • Page Size – the smaller the better.
  • Content – a new page of content everyday. Timely, topical articles are always the best. Use a lot text breaks, short sentences and dashes. Use headers, and bold standout text liberally on your pages as logical separators.
  • Keywords – use keywords in title, description tag, heading, url, bold, italic, top of page. Check spelling error.
  • Outbound links – for every page, link to one or two high ranking sites under that particular keyword.
  • Cross link – Link to on topic quality content across your site. Make links to your site root.
  • Submit – submit to major search engines and forget about it for the next 6 months.
  • Logging and Tracking – get a quality logger/tracker that can do justice to inbound referrals based on log files. Study the logs then build pages on the keywords.
  • Topic Directories – submit to web directories of related website topics.
  • Link backs – when you receive requests for links, check the site out before linking back with them.
  • Rounding out the offerings – use options such as email-a-friend, forums, and mailing lists to round out your sites offerings.
  • Timely Topics – stay abreast of developments in your keyword sector.
  • Friens and Family – Networking is critical to the success of a site. Spend your time in online forums.

Thought:
For those care about site traffic, hope this article is helpful for you.

Basically, there is no shortcut. Th content is most important. The article repeated few times on the “one page quality content per day”.

It may sound simple, but you will know it is almost impossible if you are not working full time on your website. *shrug*

The article said 15K a day, my previous month visits is 1.8K a day. Still a long way ahead…
