Previously, I reviewed CrazyEgg, a web service to create heatmap of user activities. While CrazyEgg takes time to collect data, Feng-Gui is a free web tool that will show you the areas that get most attention from your visitors in a instantly generated heatmap. Firefox addon and bookmarkets are available.

The heatmap created for LiewCF.com shows that the top banner gets most attention. Images in the post also get visitors attention.
How does it work?
Feng Gui is powered by ViewFinder algorithm which is a composition of several artificial vision algorithms that simulates the way people are paying attention to create a Saliency attention heatmap. Check out the interesting research gallery.
How to use it?
Since the heatmap is generated base on its database, it might not be accurate for your website visitors. Anyhow, you can use it as a reference to find out the hot area when you design a website. Make sure the area you want to focus will get visitors attention.

Interesting find. If you track everything I don’t see a need for a heat map. My tracking stats tell me all I need to know.

I do not think it’s accurate.
It’s a big section of your blog but i don’t pay attention to it at all. I hardly see that there’s a navigation up there( until you point this out).
My attention is fixed on your 1st blog post.
