How Difficult to Understand Your Blog?

Are you sure your readers understand what you write? How difficult it is to understand your blog? I know some blogger might show off their bombastic English in their article. But what is the point when only few people can fully understand his/her writing? Normally, I will just scroll through these articles…

So, how to make sure your blog is easy to read, easy to understand? Keep on follow these 2 rules:

  • Simple Words
  • Simple Sentence

Do not ever use complicated sentence. The longer the sentence, the more mistakes you will make. Then readers might be confused or misunderstood your actual meaning.

Test Your Blog Readability

Want to test your blog readability? Well, you can get someone to proof read your blog to get some comment. If not, you can use The Blog Readability tool to test.

The tool is similar to how much is your blog worth tool. No installation needed. Just launch The Blog Readability site, enter your blog’s URL and click on “Check readability Now”.

Download Full Yahoo! Messenger Standalone Installer

Thursday, June 12th, 2008 | Category: Downloads, Tips n Tricks, Yahoo! | 13 Comments

yahoo-messenger-logo.jpgYahoo Messenger is one of the most popular instant messengers of today. When you download Yahoo! Messenger(YM), you actually only download a small size installer which will download the full size Yahoo Messenger when it is loaded.

But, the YM installer restarts the installation when your line is unstable or the YM download site is busy. It is rather irritating. I once spent 30 minutes to see it keeps restarting the installation!

Here is the solution! We can skip the small YM installer and directly download the full Yahoo! Messenger standalone installer.

Here are the download links for YM standalone installer:

Hopefully this tip will solve your problem. It is useful too when you need to install YM on multiple computers. BTW, my YM id is liewcf1980 :)

LiewCF is NOT Missing in Hong Kong

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008 | Category: Life Log | 3 Comments

Guys, how are you doing? I am fine and didn’t get stuck in the heaviest rainstorms in Hong Kong. I was back from my trip at 30th May 2008. Lucky!

I was sick for a few days since the day I landed back on Malaysia. It was a terrible experience and I lost about 3KG of my body weight. Now, I have smaller tummy. Lucky? Unlucky?

After I had recovered from my sickness. I went to Segamat to attend a friend’s wedding. It’s a kind of weird feeling to see other friends in couple or married friends with their child. Some even have 2nd child! My another friend had his 2nd child, a son, the day before my friend’s wedding!

“When is your turn?” you ask. Well, not so soon. :)

I took a lot of pictures during the trip. I even bought a new camera for the trip! I shall filter and sort the pictures and tag some of them with geotag soon. It is hours of work.

Anyone has tips to ease the pictures filtering/uploading tasks after a trip?

Anyway, stay tune for my pics on Flickr.

LiewCF.com is Accepted in 9rules Network!

Saturday, May 24th, 2008 | Category: Site News, Weblog | 25 Comments

9rules logoJust before I am going for my HongKong/China holiday, I got a great news. My blog, LiewCF.com is accepted in 9rules network!

“9rules is an online community of blogs and bloggers. In 2006 it took the award for Best Community Site of the Year at SXSWi in Austin, Texas.” [via wikipedia]

I was first notified by Keith Dsouza via Twitter. I thought it was a joke because I didn’t put much hope when filling the 9rules submission form after get to know about the 9rules 6th round submission on “Footsptes in the Mirror” by Edrei(the first Malaysian blogger in 9rules network?)

So far, Edrei found SIX Malaysian in 9rules network:

I should be proud about it, shouldn’t I? :D

My two cents

I am not sure what is the traffic effect after joining the 9rules network, but it is great to be part of the big blogging network. 9rules is about community, as other existing 9rulers told me. Joining the family is definitely a good thing. Wish to have more Malaysian bloggers in the 9rules soon! :)
